about
The fourth installment of HÆLOS's highly anticipated third LP, "Where We Bring Our Burdens," has finally arrived, and it's a collaboration with South London's rising star, BEA ( linktr.ee/beamusicofficial ).
Titled "Alarms," this powerful track is a reflection on the fragility of human relationships and the struggle to navigate the complexities that come with them. The haunting lyrics speak to the fear of causing further harm, the pain of remembering a confrontation or distance between two friends, and the desperate struggle to reconcile conflicting emotions in the face of uncertainty and fear.
The visual for “Alarms'' comes from Hackney based photographer and filmmaker JC Verona. The lovingly hand performed, shadow puppet style story provides an emotionally nostalgic visualisation of the song’s meaning.
DEPECHE MODE have just announced HÆLOS as main support for the Germany, Italy, Austria, Croatia and Romania legs of their Memento Mori World Tour but you will find them in the relative intimacy of Village Underground in London on 18/05 and Bea has been announced as support. Don't miss your chance to see HÆLOS and BEA live at Village Underground on 18/05. With tickets nearly sold out, this is a rare opportunity to witness two of the most exciting artists in the industry sharing the stage to perform their latest single together.
lyrics
It’s been a while my friend,
And what was said was said,
We’ll make it,
Or fake it then.
It’s been a lot since when,
The shadow cast on them,
Fosaken,
I’m terrified.
Don’t go chasing,
Let the feeling grow.
Cause I’ve been wondering
How to be alone.
Don’t cause alarm,
Don’t cause alarm,
Don’t cause alarm.
You’ll make them scared,
You’ll make them scared.
Don’t cause alarm,
Don’t cause alarm,
Don’t cause alarm.
There’s nothing there,
There’s nothing there.
So disavow your senses,
Some credit now, debt later
Take it,
Just numb it out.
They couldn’t love you better,
The weightless sin when we’re together,
A fallen feather.
You can think it but
Don’t go chasing
Let the feeling grow.
Cause I’ve been wondering
How to be alone.
Don’t cause alarm,
Don’t cause alarm,
Don’t cause alarm.
You’ll make them scared,
You’ll make them scared.
Don’t cause alarm,
Don’t cause alarm,
Don’t cause alarm.
There’s nothing there,
There’s nothing there.

Shoegaze ist die Kunst des Dröhnens, doch „Everything Is Alive“ setzt diese Elemente nur sparsam ein. Statt Hall- und Zerr-Sounds aufzutürmen, schäumt die Musik in feinen Bläschen über.

Gunship leans hard into the DRAMA of the synthwave genre, which is really what it's all about. It's burn... intensity, kinetic energy, triumph and tragedy. The arrangements rise and fall, and the textures weave everything together into a ride you just need to get on, throw up your arms, let the wind blow back your hair, and enjoy. Peace Mob
On the gorgeously unsettling new record from Ariahindream, haunting vocal melodies drift through dark, swirling clouds of electronics. Bandcamp New & Notable Apr 29, 2023
A rich and vivid meal for your ears, made by jazz heads with hip-hop sensibility and pinches of soul, blues, and gospel. Bandcamp New & Notable Nov 10, 2014
After I discovered GUNSHIP with UNICORN, I went through all their material in a rush. They're whole discography is great, and I think this is the greatest. This album haunts me. I can't listen to it once. Even if I turn it off, I still hear it echoing in the back of my mind. GUNSHIP has a mastery of the bridge that reaches the level of mastery in this album that's just unrivaled. If you get only one album from GUNSHIP, get this one. Mailanka
